On August 28, 1872, the City of San Francisco opened the doors to the City and County Hospital at 23rd and Potrero Streets, making an investment in public health that would withstand plagues and earthquakes, population booms and great inventions. 150 years later, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital still stands, keeping the heart of this city beating strong.
From combatting COVID-19 to preventing chronic illness; from building healthy families to improving mental health; from treating substance use disorders to caring for San Francisco during moments of crisis; Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center has been there.
Now more than ever, there is an urgent need to support health equity and access for all.
Thank you to all who joined us for the first free virtual fundraising event to honor those on the front lines of public healthcare that benefits us all.
